The Wuhan Giga-Mega Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd was founded in 2023 and is the first national high-tech enterprise in China dedicated to the industrialization of liquid metal battery energy storage technology. LMB has broken through traditional battery configurations by utilizing liquid metal and inorganic molten salt as electrodes and electrolytes, offering core advantages of long lifetime, high safety, and low cost. The company has also advanced key technologies for LMB cell and system, developing 200Ah, 500Ah, and 1000Ah battery cells, as well as heat-electricity adaptive regulation battery modules, with core technical parameters leading internationally. The company has established China's first pilot production line for LMBs with an annual capacity of 10MWh. Collaborating with China Southern Power Grid, it has undertaken the national key R&D program under the 14th Five-Year Plan and plans to build a megawatt-level LMB energy storage demonstration power station by 2027.
